OxygenOS 16 Launch day: OnePlus Brings Live Lock Screen, Gemini AI & Smarter UI on October 16

OnePlus is now officially confirmed on October 16, 2025. OxygenOS 16, which is based on Android 16, will be launched. The announcement was first seen on OnePlus India's social handles with a featuring tagline “Intelligently Yours”, and a new OnePlus AI branding. From this post, it is clear that OnePlus is now promoting and bringing AI to the update.  

We don’t receive any changelog from OnePlus. Still, we can hope the changes will be made on AI integrations, some awesome UI enhancements and usability upgrades.

Gemini & Mind ­Space Integration: Hope we still remember about the OnePlus “Mind Space” AI hub. Now they are bringing Google Gemini into there. Which will help users to assist with contextual tasks, Gemini can use content which is saved on the device to plan, work on screenshots, and it could help users without leaving apps.

Live Lock Screen & Dynamic Widgets: Here, we can expect some more special features on the lock screen. We hope we could be able to see live updates on match scores, delivery status, and ride status. 

Expressive UI / Design: Inspired by modern design needs and trends, OnePlus is now bringing a more immersive and clean UI, which is slightly and possibly influenced by iOS’s “Liquid Glass” styling.

Privacy & Security Boosts: User data will be safer now with the new Privacy and Security updates. As well as, We will also be able to see enhanced protection for scam prevention and apps.

Flagships: OnePlus Open, OnePlus 11 / 11R, OnePlus 12 / 12R, OnePlus 13 / 13R / 13S.

Nord & midrange: Nord 3, Nord 4, Nord 5, Nord CE4 / CE4 Lite, Nord CE5.

Tablets: Pad Lite, Pad 2, OnePlus Pad, Pad 3.

Newer flagship models will receive the update first. Then, OnePlus will roll out the updates on the other devices soon.
