Airtel has already started testing the Advanced 5G network features in partnership with some global vendors to get faster throughput and energy use efficiently. The upgrade is expected to provide a good experience with high-end applications like AR/VR streaming, remote industrial monitoring and cloud gaming.

By expanding its partnership with logistics, manufacturing and IT firms, Airtel is strengthening its IoT portfolio and Enterprise 5G under the Airtel Business unit. A growing adoption is seen among enterprises with services like network slicing, private 5G networks and managed cloud connectivity.

The main purpose of this is to extend reliable broadband solutions to the remote rural areas.

It is rumoured by some telecom analysts that Airtel’s AI-based optimisation and aggressive infrastructure modernisation will strengthen its position against Jio in the 5G and upcoming 6G transition race.
