Use WhatsApp on multiple smartphones at the same time with the same number simultaneously.

Ever noticed that logging in to WhatsApp on your other phone is not as easy as we think? We cannot just enter our number on the login page and log in easily if we have already logged in to that account on our other phone. It is needed to log out from the other device in order to log in to your WhatsApp account on a new device. But there is a solution where we can easily use both of our devices to log in to the same account. Not only two devices we can also add as many as we want if the device supports WhatsApp. It is sometimes really needed that log in to WhatsApp on multiple devices. Some of us carry two or more devices for our requirements. Sometimes we use smartphones and tablets too for different use cases. All devices need to be connected to the same account to check and respond to every important message which comes to us. It is needed to reply from those devices which we are using at that time. Here you will get information about how we can use the same WhatsApp account on multiple phones as well as browsers. Let’s talk about how we can do that.

First, let’s talk about how we can log in to WhatsApp on multiple devices with the same number. First, let’s check what we always do. We downloaded WhatsApp on our new device and then directly started logging in with our number. Now WhatsApp send OTP, and then after adding some backup accounts, it finally opens our WhatsApp account on a new device. In the meantime, the app gives us a pop-up asking if we need to recover chats from our last saved backup accounts. We can choose to download backup chats and start continuing our journey to use WhatsApp on our new device. If we are not aware of which account we use to back up, we will finally lose all the chats we had before. At this point, we have started like a new member on WhatsApp. All the chats we have done earlier will be gone if we do the process this way. To get rid of this issue, we should back up our chats every week. Otherwise, we will receive a blank screen on our newly logged-in device. No previous chats will be seen there. Also, in our existing phone, if somehow we delete the chat history or clear the data of WhatsApp, that will also end up with a blank screen with no chats when opening your existing WhatsApp account. So it is necessary to always back up your chats when you have some time if your chats are important.

Now, how can we do the chat backup thing? If you are already logged in to WhatsApp, just open WhatsApp. Now, ignore all the messages for some time. Yes, your crush may send you some messages. Ignore it as of now; she is just asking a favour to complete the assignment. You can let her wait for some time. This is important to back up your chats, or else, all the chat history would be gone at any time. So, at the top right corner, you could see a three vertical dots logo. Just click on that and go to settings. Over there, just don’t look at your DP. You are looking perfectly fine. Find the “Chats” section and click on it. Scroll down, and you will find an option called “Chat Backup”. That’s it, just click on it, and you will see a page where you will see that one of your Gmail accounts is already linked with your WhatsApp account. If not, please link your Gmail account now. All our messages will be backed up on that Gmail account. Now you will see an option called “Back up”, just click on that, and the rest will be handled by WhatsApp.Now, if you want to switch devices and you don’t want to use your old phone, then you can log in WhatsApp account on your new phone and connect the same Gmail account to your WhatsApp on the new device. WhatsApp will show you how to download all the backup chats on your new device from your mail account. In that way, we can successfully transfer our WhatsApp account to a new phone.

But here, if we want to just use our same WhatsApp account on multiple devices without logging out of any of them. As well as we don’t want to download the backups on each and every device. Still, we want all the recent chats on every device. Yes, that is possible. By using the other phones as a companion device. We can add multiple phones as our companion devices. In this way, your main phone has access to log in and log out to your WhatsApp from any of your other devices. Also, you can simultaneously chat from any device you want. All the chats will be synced on every device when the device is connected to the internet. Now. Let me tell you how we can do that. Let’s start with installing WhatsApp on our new phone. After the installation is done, just open WhatsApp on the new device. At the welcome screen, the app will ask for your number to log in. Now you don’t need to give the number there. Because if you do that. WhatsApp will log in to your new device and automatically log out of your old device. So in this section, just check that there is a three-dot logo in the top right corner of the screen. Now, if you click on that option from the welcome screen to your new device, you can see an option called "Link as a companion device"/”Link a device”. That’s the option to safely use the same WhatsApp account on two or multiple devices.

After clicking the option, there will be a QR code seen on your new device. Now just open WhatsApp on your old phone and click the three dots from the top right corner again to get the option called “Link a device”/”Linked device”. Now, after clicking the option, you have to click again on the option called “Link a device”. Now the phone camera will open on your old phone, and we just need to scan the QR code of your new phone. That’s it, just give it some time to load all your chats and other received media on your new phone. It will take some time to shrink all the chats to your new phone. After it is done, your new phone will show your WhatsApp account automatically. On your old phone, you will see a phone added to the list of linked devices. Now you can use WhatsApp on both devices, and all the conversations will be synced on both devices. In the same way, you can add multiple phones to your main WhatsApp account, which is logged in to your old phone. Also, from the old phone’s Linked devices list, you can log out of WhatsApp from any of your devices you want. This will work on both Android and iOS devices.

Here, I explained the way to back up and recover all the chats. As well as it is mentioned here how we can safely log out of WhatsApp from an old device and log in to a new device as the main WhatsApp account. Also, I described how to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices with the same number in companion device mode. It is always recommended that if we have some important chats on WhatsApp, we must back up our chats before doing anything with our account. The process is also explained over here.
